Madison Medley Hammond ’22 is a proud Emory & Henry University alumna who has returned to campus as the Assistant Director of Admissions in the School of Health Sciences. A Civic Innovation graduate with minors in Sociology and Political Science, Madison credits E&H’s personalized, relationship-centered education for shaping her academic, professional, and personal journey. Now, she is passionate about guiding and supporting future healthcare professionals while continuing to serve the university community that helped shape who she is today.

When Mary Beth Tignor steps into a garden, she sees far more than rows of vegetables. She sees possibility, of community, of education, and of nourishment that extends well beyond a dinner table. As the Resident Services Manager for People Incorporated in Southwest Virginia and an adjunct professor in Emory & Henry University’s Environmental Studies Department, Tignor has dedicated her career to weaving these possibilities together. This fall, her passion took shape through a hands-on service-learning project that introduced students and local families to the value of fresh produce, shared meals, and community collaboration.
