Student Employment (Work Study) is managed by the Career Center and you can find on-campus opportunities by searching on Handshake.

The USA Federal Government uses USAJobs.gov to post opportunities and this is where anyone wanting to work with the Federal Government should search for vacant opportunities.
While no guarantees can be made, to help mitigate the constant threat of fraudulent employers, Handshake designed and built the first “Employer Trust Score” in the career services space. This Trust Score uses a powerful two-part validation system designed to identify and eliminate fraudulent employers and contacts before they join your network, making it easy to protect our students as they explore the job market.

If you find an opportunity on a job search board (like Indeed), go directly to the employer’s website to ensure the employer and the opportunity are real.
It is best practice to apply through the employer’s website.
A thorough description of the employer and position should be provided
The role has comparable qualifications, pay, and benefits to similar opportunities with other employers
Does the employer provide photos of the staff members on their website?

Curriculum Vitae (CV) tend to be multiple pages and are most often used for graduate school applications and occupations that value your academic experience as a top qualifier. Follow the same formal resume template, but expand beyond the standard resume page limit to include additional relevant information that will ensure the reviewers know the depth of your experience. The most important thing you can do before an interview is to prepare! While it is helpful to practice your responses, interviewers are looking for authentic responses to their questions, with a focus on, “Why us and why you?”.
