Emory & Henry is proud to be a residential campus, with more than 80% of our students living on campus. At the same time, we welcome commuter students and have dedicated spaces where they can relax, study and feel at home.

The historic campus maintains the scenic beauty of Central Appalachia but gives convenient access to the region’s activities and culture. On-campus residents find there are always friends and activities to engage in. The E&H campus features a variety of residence halls with co-ed, single-gender, and gender-inclusive accommodations. Residence halls feature Resident Advisors to assist students as they acclimate to their new surroundings. The Office of Housing and Residence Life website hopes to offer you an array of information to prepare students for their arrival to campus.

Students who are interested in living off-campus must submit an Off-Campus Housing Application and be approved by the Office of Housing and Residence Life. All applications are due by February 1st and must be completed annually. To learn more about living off-campus, please see details here.

<aside class="faq-widget"><div class="faq-widget-question"><a href="/live/blurbs/1375-how-is-housing-assigned-for-first-year-students">How is housing assigned for first-year students?</a></div><div class="faq-widget-answer"><span style="font-weight: 400;">All incoming students who have committed to Emory & Henry University and paid their deposits will complete the Housing Agreement & Residence Life Data Form. The form will collect information about each student’s habits, interests, and needs to best assign campus housing and match compatible roommates. Students are assigned housing and notified about housing assignments via their Emory & Henry email address.</span></div></aside>
<aside class="faq-widget"><div class="faq-widget-question"><a href="/live/blurbs/1397-how-are-the-residence-halls-cleaned">How are the residence halls cleaned?</a></div><div class="faq-widget-answer"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Emory & Henry University’s Facilities Management Department employs custodial staff assigned to regularly clean every residence hall on campus. Custodial staff are responsible for cleaning common areas with residence halls. The cleaning of residence hall rooms, private bathrooms, and suite-style bathrooms are the responsibility of each residential student. The cleaning of the townhouse apartments assigned to upperclassmen are entirely the responsibility of each residential student.</span></div></aside>
<aside class="faq-widget"><div class="faq-widget-question"><a href="/live/blurbs/1380-what-furniture-comes-with-a-standard-residence">What furniture comes with a standard residence hall room?</a></div><div class="faq-widget-answer"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Each residential student is provided with a twin extra long bed that includes an authorized mattress with a nylon cover, a dresser with three large drawers, a desk and desk chair. All rooms have closet space for each resident. </span></div></aside>

Although renters insurance is not required of our residential students, every student is highly encouraged to obtain renters insurance to cover the cost and replace damaged, lost, or stolen personal items.</span></div></aside>

Microfridges must be UL approved and no larger than 4.6 cubic feet. <aside class="faq-widget"><div class="faq-widget-question"><a href="/live/blurbs/1388-what-happens-if-my-roommate-and-i-arent-getting">What happens if my roommate and I aren’t getting along?</a></div><div class="faq-widget-answer"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Conflict is a natural part of any relationship, including roommate relationships. Professional and student Housing & Residence Life staff are trained to facilitate meditations for roommate conflicts. Because vacancies in campus housing are rare, roommates are asked to work through and resolve conflicts that do not result in one or both roommates feeling unsafe within their room.</span></div></aside>

Each residence hall on campus is assigned to a Resident Advisor, who serves as a student employee within Housing & Residence Life and receives extensive training and certifications on assisting our students. Additionally, each residence hall and Resident Advisor is assigned to an Area Coordinator, who serves as a professional live-in staff member. The professional and student staff assist students with any need they may have within the residence halls and connect students to other campus resources as well.</span></div></aside>
