Virginia Highlands Community College

Students at Virginia Highlands Community College can participate in the ROTC program at Emory & Henry.

Any VHCC student can participate in the Emory & Henry ROTC by becoming a non-degree seeking student at Emory & Henry University. This is made possible by applying to the University as a non-degree seeking student and registering for the classes.

Emory & Henry–VHCC ROTC Agreement Procedures

Admission and Student Records

VHCC students interested in participating in this program will apply for non-degree seeking student status with Emory & Henry University and each student’s academic record in the program will be maintained by Emory & Henry.

Student Activities

VHCC students enrolled in the ROTC program will be accorded full access to Emory & Henry services and co-/extra- curricular activities related to the ROTC program and will utilize Emory & Henry’s facilities.

Academic Advisement

VHCC students will be advised in the program by Emory & Henry’s ROTC and Veteran’s Support Specialist.

Tuition and Fees

Students admitted to the ROTC program will have all tuition and fee payments paid directly by the United States Army for their enrollment. VHCC students will enroll as Emory & Henry University non-degree seeking students and receive credit at Emory & Henry, but students who do so will not earn course credit with VHCC. The United States Army provides instruction to these students at no cost to the University.

Student Assumption of Risk

VHCC students enrolled in the ROTC program are entitled to all rights and responsibilities that accompany enrollment. Additionally, VHCC students who participate in E&H ROTC will complete the Assumption of Risk form, copies of which will be held by both institutions. Sophomore Year Spring

The PT and Lab classes are not mandatory but are highly encouraged. For the Labs at ETSU, Emory & Henry provides transportation to and from.
