I started interacting with WEHC when I arrived in the US as I am a committee member for the student radio station in Exeter, Xpression FM and was keen to continue doing radio for my year away and make use of the fantastic facilities that WEHC has to offer. In the UK I had worked on a myriad of shows, from news panel shows on national and local topics, hosted my own variety music show and done a handful of different sports commentary gigs, from commentating professional FA Cup ‘soccer’ matches, to even a boxing fight night, covering 12 fights in one sitting.

At WEHC I have learnt a lot about running the board for live remote broadcasts and editing audio for pre-recorded shows. I have been grateful to gain a better understanding of US politics and society, and WEHC has offered me that opportunity to meet people that I never would encounter in a hundred years in the UK. I hope to make an extended political pre recorded show analysing the current US political landscape and how people outside the US interpret it, as I am often asked what the European opinions are on current affairs.
